Dajti Express Cable Car (Dajti Ekspres)
About
The gondola that runs from the eastern edge of Tirana up to Dajti, opened in 2005 and covering about 4.2 kilometres in roughly fifteen minutes. At the time of construction it was promoted as one of the longest cable car rides in the Balkans. The cabins hold eight people and run continuously, with unobstructed views over the city on the ascent and across the forested ridge at the top.
The station sits in the Porcelan quarter, accessible by taxi or bus from the centre. It stops running in high wind and occasionally closes for maintenance, typically on Tuesdays but not reliably — worth checking on the day. Queues build on Sunday mornings in summer. Round trips are ticketed at the bottom; there is a restaurant and several smaller cafes at the upper station.
