Essential, preference, recommendation, and analytics cookies — and how to control them.

This Cookie Policy explains how Teravia (“we”, “us”) uses cookies and similar technologies on teravia.al. It should be read with our Privacy Policy.

2. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help the site remember your session, keep you signed in, and understand how pages are used. Similar technologies include local storage and pixels.

3. How Teravia uses cookies

3.1 Essential / strictly necessary

  • Session cookies so login, CSRF protection, and forms work
  • Security cookies that help prevent abuse
  • Cookies required to complete on-platform booking steps

These cookies are needed for the Service to function. The site may not work correctly if you block them.

3.2 Functional / preferences

  • Remember UI choices (for example recently used search preferences)
  • Trip draft or planning helpers stored on-device where used

3.3 Recommendations

  • A first-party identifier (tv_rid) so we can rank homepage “Worth the trip” and similar rails using recent views, saves, and clicks on this device

This supports product relevance; it is not used to sell advertising profiles to third parties.

3.4 Analytics / Google Analytics & Microsoft Clarity

We use Google Analytics (Google tag / gtag.js) to understand how visitors use teravia.al — which pages are viewed, how people arrive, and where the experience can be improved.

  • You can limit analytics via browser controls and Google’s ad settings

We also use Microsoft Clarity for session recordings and heatmaps so we can see where the site is confusing or broken (scroll depth, clicks, rage clicks).

We also use OpenReplay for session replay (page views, clicks, console/network signals) to find and fix UX issues on real devices.

  • Sensitive fields such as emails and numbers are obscured in recordings where supported

3.5 Marketing / Meta Pixel

We use the Meta Pixel (Facebook) to measure visits, understand how people find Teravia, and improve ads on Meta platforms (Facebook and Instagram). The pixel may set cookies or similar identifiers from Meta when you browse teravia.al.

  • Typical events: PageView (and other events we configure in Meta Events Manager)
  • You can limit ad tracking in your Meta account ad settings and via browser cookie controls

4. Cookies related to bookings and third parties

When you continue a booking on Viator, Booking.com, Airbnb, maps providers, or a partner site, those domains may set their own cookies under their policies. Teravia does not control cookies set after you leave our domain.

5. How long cookies last

  • Session cookies — deleted when you close the browser (or shortly after)
  • Persistent cookies — remain for a defined period (for example weeks or months) or until you delete them

6. Managing cookies

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to refuse third-party cookies or clear existing cookies. Blocking essential cookies may prevent sign-in, booking, or form submission.

Device-level controls and private browsing modes also limit storage. Clearing cookies may sign you out and reset recommendation history on that browser.

7. Do Not Track

There is no consistent industry standard for Do Not Track browser signals. We treat cookie controls and account choices as the practical way to manage tracking preferences.

8. Updates

We may update this Cookie Policy when our technology or legal requirements change. The “Last updated” date will change when we do.
