Electricity, plugs, and Wi-Fi
Voltage, adapters, power cuts, and staying online off the main roads.
Voltage is 230V, 50Hz. Plugs are Type C and F (standard European two-pin). UK and US travellers need adapters; most phone chargers work on 230V without a converter.
Power cuts are uncommon in cities but can happen in storms or remote villages. Guesthouses in the mountains may have limited electricity at peak hours — charge devices when you can.
Hotels and cafés in towns usually have Wi-Fi; speed varies. A local SIM is more reliable than Wi-Fi for maps and messaging on the road.
